A webquest for 2nd grade

When Stellaluna, a very young bat, gets lost she has to find ways to survive.
She finds herself living with birds, but she really doesn't fit in. If you have ever felt that way you will want to help Stellaluna find her family! When you complete this quest you would know what to do if you found a lost bat!
Your quest is to learn all that you can about bats so that you can help everyone understand how important they are in our environment.

After you have read and discussed Stellaluna, explored some of the links from the Library that teach us about bats with your partner you will list some of the characteristics of bats.
Here are the characteristics that you will want to understand.

Your teacher will pair you with a partner, and you will be assigned a question that you will be responsible for. You will gather your notes in your notebook.
You and your partner will write and illustrate two pages to teach your class what you learned.
Mrs. McIntyre will gather your pages and scan them so that you and your parents will be able to view your book online.

Your teachers give you a grade for your work. Here is your chance to give your teachers a grade for their work! You are now an expert on bats! If you had fun making and publishing a book this webquest was a success! When you finish doing an assignment you should always look back to see if you accomplished what you wanted to.
If you would like to tell Ms. McIntyre something click here and send her your evaluation of the webquest!
